21 Sept '06: Fix Release:Windows only release of vic-2.8ucl1.2.1 which fixes a crash on startup when no valid DirectX capture devices are present.

19 Sept '06: Simplified Website Access: We have made mediatools.cs.ucl.ac.uk accessible via http and https. (Access via https is now only used for Trac account logins). Also going to http://mediatools.cs.ucl.ac.uk/ will now jump straight to mediatools trac site.

13 Sept '06: New Release: We would like to announce the availability of the latest release of the the UCL Media tools - VIC and RAT (including the UCL Common library). We welcome use and feedback from any users.

These new versions have a number new features. They are available from 'Downloads' section of the relevant tool pages: RatWiki and VicWiki. Information on the updates is also available from these pages. Briefly the new features are:

  • RAT: New User Interface - with 'on-the-fly' changing of address/port, Security 'padlock' indicator Icon, Various stability enhancements
  • VIC: Logo sending facility, Support for Source-Specific Multicast (ssm) adresses, H261as codec (from Rhys Hawkins)

12 Apr '06: Release: We would like to announce the availability of the latest release of the the UCL Media tools - VIC and RAT (including the UCL Common library). These are developer releases intended for testing by developers and interested users.

These new versions have some new features, and have been extensively cleaned up for compilation under gcc4 and Visual Studio. They are available from 'Downloads' section of the relevant tool pages: RatWiki and VicWiki. Information on the updates is also available from these pages.
